I studied Fashion Design at Parsons, but always had a strong love for accessories. After a few years in Fashion I went to work under Philip Crangi and he taught me a wealth of information about the creative process, technicalities of jewelry and transforming an idea into a finished project. I then went to Jewelry making school to learn how to actually fabricate myself, and soon after launched Rebecca Pinto Jewelry.
I carry a sketch book with me at all times, I am constantly jotting down ideas and sketching quick mock ups... I work in wax, so I fabricate my designs in wax first then cast and adapt, add finishing details before making molds to be able to cast and go into production.
Nature for organic texture, Sculpture for shape and movement, and travel always revives my soul and floods ideas into my head...
A strong woman that is not trying to follow trend, instead collecting handmade, fine pieces she can live in every day and one day pass down to the generations to follow. She's confidant and adventurous.
A vintage Rolex, my signet emerald pinky ring, wedding band, and alway a different stack of RP rings- gold, silver and diamonds, I love to mix metals. I switch up my earrings almost every day... And I always wear my RP diamond constellation coins- I have one with my daughter Ama's star sign and one with my son Luca's star sign.
A tie between two... My engagement ring that my husband commissioned my former boss/ mentor and over all super inspiring man Philip Crangi to create. It's a one of a kind piece that I absolutely cherish. I also have an emerald and diamond pinky ring that I made that I never take off- the emerald was passed down to me by my parents. It was in the ring my father proposed to my mother with, and holds an amazing amount of sentimental value.
